Put your paws together for our pet of the week, Dorito! This sweet and spicy tabby-tortie is a rescue from Puerto Rico! She can go from friendly to feisty and back again, and her sunshine-loving, heat-seeking side can get her into mischief, attempting escapes with surprising skills for opening doors. Keep your eye on Dorito and keep scrolling for the spicy details!

Visiting Dorito and her very shy brother Lovey is satisfying and entertaining. This chica greets us right away, hungry more for affection than her food, and definitely more for treats, for that matter! Their owner selects a once daily 30 minute in-home visit while traveling; we stop over and provide the basics. Jessie, Nathaniel, and Sarah get to see Dorito the most (and once in awhile, Lovey, too!) for their care. We use our time to serve both kibble and wet food, fresh water dishes, and treats: churu squeeze tubes are Dorito's favorite! We wash out any dishes that need it, sweep up crumbs, and of course scoop the litter. Once in awhile, she acts playful with us, and she always wants some good pets.

Miss Dorito enjoys our visits as much as we do, usually tailing along as we prepare their meals and grab some tasty treats, and sometimes coming with us as we peek into closets and under beds looking for Lovey. We love watching her follow the sunbeams across the room. Visiting Dorito requires careful attention when coming and going; she's an expert at opening the pantry and the door to the garage, so we use caution and vigilence to keep her inside, safe from harm. Dorito can be pretty talkative!! She just might tell you everything in her own voice. Oh don't we all wish we could hear what our pets have to say?
