Put your paws together to celebrate our pet of the week, Maddie! This sweet and loving older Shetland Sheepdog has a heart full of love for everyone she encounters, but is now struggling on unsteady legs that limit her mobility. There's something else that makes her special, too: she's part of the Captain Flosse family! Keep scrolling for more Maddie!

This beautiful 11 year old lady is part of Laura's extended pet family and is right at home in their little zoo. She is known for being gentle and sweet - but also likes to bark her greetings! Her owners occasionally head out of town and ask for our services that can fit their needs caring for a variety of pets; Maddie and our staff have plenty of company! There's another dog, four cats, some chicks, a gecko, and a bearded dragon -- and a few of them are part of the F.L.O.S.S.E. D.O.G'S name. We have had great success with our extended overnights plus in-home visits in the daytime to allow Maddie and friends comfort and safety. Her care tasks are simply feeding/watering, potty breaks, medications, and plenty of pets and brushes. Laura, Meg, and Christa are most familiar with Maddie and the rest of the zoo. 

Maddie really loves her people, and when they go away, it is evident she longs to have them back home. With those original vintage legs giving her trouble in her senior years, she doesn't need to go for a walk these days. She gets let out onto the back porch to avoid the stairs and will potty on pee pads. You'd have to watch out, though -- she can still sneak off and find forbidden kitty foods to steal. Her own meals have become a real celebration of different textures both wet and dry, warmed up, and full of extras like shredded chicken, medications that help her feel her best, and supplements like Omega-3 oils. Maddie loves to be pet and talked to. She also likes having her long fur brushed. Happy woofs only, sweet lady!
